This is where it all begins. Tips, concepts, knowledge everything related to CCIE studies is in this space. I've learned a lot with resources available on the web, and hope to return the favor by writing what I'm learning about the CCIE and to hopefully push myself into finishing out a CCIE exam. To left on the sidebar is the exam blueprint which will have additional information within each section.

Feel free to look at the topics, since this is "living" document not all content is posted just yet as its just me running the show over here. I'll have updates posted on blog section when content is available.

History

  • The CCIE program launched in 1993, on September 27th by John Chambers, who was then a Vice President at Cisco and later become CEO in 1995-2015.
  • The original name of the program was called "Cisco Top Gun" which is inspired by the famous movie but some legal concerns led to a name change. Which kind of tells you they type of thinking we had in 1993! 😄 Would you be proud that your a "Cisco Top Gun"?
  • CCIE was actually the first certification released by Cisco, the CCNA certification was released five years later in 1998.
