Last weekend I was with my family on a trip to the City of Rocks. The City of Rocks follows the California trail, one of the major routes used by emigrants heading out west during the 1800s, amazing history with the promise of land, gold and freedom. These are transitions that people make in their life, marking the end of a chapter, and beginning a new one with the hope their life becomes better than it was before.
So although its been a little quiet over here, my life hasn't! Let's just say I've been trying to get a handle on my next career move. What I'm finding is, this current job market is not so great. I'm still working at my current job but our team is getting smaller and the project that I'm on is starting to see the sunset on the horizon within the next year or so. How do I get ahead of it?
So I've been learning about administrative distance and updated my first CCIE topic Administrative Distance. One thing I learn about was this phrase called "Ships in the Night". So when I first saw this I paused, because it reminded me of a song from Mat Kearney.
I’ve got everything packed and in the car waiting for an early drive into central Idaho for a 30ish mile hike with the family and my amazing guy of three years together. Although he’s questioning this ‘hike’. It’ll be a challenge, but I think we can make it and come out on top and in the end, we’ll both love it.
There is always going be crossroads in life and the question of do I carry on or move on can really be applied to anything, from a new career option, to moving to a different place, or even a relationship, it’s a question that I think everyone takes a mental note of. It’s usually not something that can be answered right away, and we have this question in the back of our minds, and we are subconsciously thinking about it until we arrive at one of the many crossroads in life.
I was fortunate to have the opportunity to see Glacier National Park this year with my family and a special guy who has changed my life! Glacier is a special place, the natural beauty around glacier is amazing. One of the many reasons I love the outdoors, and that was probably in part of when I was younger.
Love is a tricky thing that can start relationships, trust, and commitments. It also can be the opposite if your love was betrayed. Making it harder to start over on those relationships again, building trust again and commitments. Emotionally affecting you, perhaps affecting your way of life and even wondering if you could “start-over” again, all for love.
We’re given a chance on this place that we call earth to do what exactly? I think that is a question that man and woman have wondered since inception. When we look at the history of mankind it’s not pretty and sometimes its horrid. However as awful as that is, life and mankind has also shown us, compassion, beauty, love, community, and grit. We play on the one string we have here…and that’s life and it continues regardless of circumstances.
Being in the technical field those are words that I don’t normally come across much. I’m constantly thinking of better ways to improve something, change something, and or add in something. That’s why I love technology!
My normal work schedule is Monday thru Friday and although I’ve been working from home now, something that I felt in the very beginning when I started the “home office” is I need to get out more! That change of not driving to work and the freedom of essentially work from anywhere is a different mindset then what we had a couple of years ago.
